Overview
Techniques de l'informatique is a technical DEC (420.B0) at Cégep André-Laurendeau preparing students for applied-software careers. The program develops skills in analyzing a request and translating it into logical steps, programming application components and writing quality code, monitoring developments in information technology, contributing to solution design and technical documentation, and adapting to different technical environments, networks, and working methods. Students work across operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Android; languages including Java, JavaScript, C++, HTML, CSS, Python, Dart, and Bash; database tools such as MySQL, Oracle PL-SQL, and NoSQL; and frameworks such as jQuery, React, Angular, Node.js, and Flutter, with recent additions covering simulation and game programming, IoT programming, mobile programming, and Agile methods. The program is offered in an alternance travail-études format with two paid twelve-week placements in Canada or abroad, and the page describes it as a DEC-portable program requiring a personal laptop; a DES-DEP-DEC bridge lets students who also hold a DEP in IT support complete the DEC in two and a half years.
