Overview
Techniques policieres (code 310.A0) is a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) offered by Cegep de l'Abitibi-Temiscamingue at its Rouyn-Noranda campus, training future police officers and related public-safety personnel. The program includes employment-based internships and requires Common Core Mathematics (CST) from the fourth year of Quebec secondary school, plus that the applicant has never been convicted of a Criminal Code offence. Enrolment is quota-limited: candidates are invited to a selection day based on academic record, a group interview, and physical-aptitude testing, with a vision exam required and a medical exam strongly recommended for those retained; selected students must hold a secondary school diploma with its five mandatory subjects, sign a conduct declaration, and hold at least a learner's driving licence from their first session, and swimming ability is recommended. Coursework covers public-safety intervention, prevention, conflict resolution, planned operations, arrest procedures, accident management, and investigation. After completing the DEC, graduates must complete further training at the Ecole nationale de police du Quebec (ENPQ) to obtain a work permit as a patrol officer. Graduates work with municipal police services, the Surete du Quebec, the RCMP, Indigenous police forces, or in related roles such as investigator, correctional officer, government inspector, or special constable. Admission Requirements: Techniques policières (310.A0), 3 ans (6 sessions), campus de Rouyn-Noranda uniquement, programme contingenté (environ 70 places). Préalable exigé: Mathématiques Culture, société et technique (CST) de 4e secondaire. Le DES doit inclure les cinq matières obligatoires. Les candidats et candidates ne doivent jamais avoir été déclaré(e)s coupables d'une infraction au Code criminel et doivent signer une attestation de bonne conduite. Le classement se fait d'abord sur le dossier scolaire ou collégial, puis les personnes retenues sont convoquées à une journée d'évaluation (entrevue de groupe et tests d'aptitudes physiques et visuels); un permis d'apprenti conducteur est requis dès la première session et la capacité à nager est fortement suggérée. L'examen médical n'est plus obligatoire, mais il est fortement recommandé; un examen visuel doit être fait si la candidature est retenue. Les conditions d'admission doivent être maintenues jusqu'à l'entrée à l'ENPQ. L'admission se fait par le SRAM.

For Winter 2027, applications opened 15 September 2026, Round 1 closes 1 November 2026 and Round 2 closes 25 November 2026, with unfilled seats carried forward. SRAM has not yet posted Fall 2027 domestic dates. Internationally, SRAM's Fall 2027 window runs 15 March 2026 to 14 March 2027; its next window (Winter 2028) runs 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027. Admission is rolling by round, not a single fixed date. The college's own admissions page still shows a stale Session Automne 2025 round schedule and directs applicants to SRAM's dates page for the current calendar. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
