Overview
Soins infirmiers (code 180.A0) is a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in nursing offered by Cegep de l'Abitibi-Temiscamingue at its Rouyn-Noranda and Val-d'Or campuses. Admission requires Science and Technology (STE) or Environmental Science (SE) from the fourth year of Quebec secondary school; fifth-year Chemistry is an asset, and the college offers a bridging chemistry course for students who have not completed it. The program builds knowledge in biology, pharmacology, psychology, and sociology alongside clinical skills, and includes employment-based internships. From the first session, and before beginning any clinical placement, students must apply for a permit of registration with the Ordre des infirmieres et infirmiers du Quebec (OIIQ) and complete a series of mandatory base vaccinations. A DEC-BAC agreement with the Universite du Quebec en Abitibi-Temiscamingue allows graduates to complete a bachelor's degree in nursing in five years combined. Students learn to plan and evaluate patient care, assess physical and mental condition, administer prescribed medication and treatments, and take a central role within interdisciplinary health-care teams in hospitals, long-term care centres (CHSLD), medical clinics, palliative-care homes, and private services. Graduates work as registered nurses. The program suits students who are attentive to others' needs, comfortable in fast-paced clinical settings, and able to communicate clearly while working closely with patients and colleagues.

Admission Requirements: Soins infirmiers (180.A0), 3 ans (6 sessions), offert aux campus de Rouyn-Noranda et de Val-d'Or. Préalable exigé: Science et technologie de l'environnement (STE) ou Sciences et environnement (SE) de 4e secondaire. La chimie de 5e secondaire est un atout et non un préalable: le Cégep offre une formation en chimie adaptée aux étudiantes et étudiants qui ne l'ont pas. Dès la première session, une demande de certificat d'immatriculation à l'Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ) est requise, ainsi qu'une série de vaccins de base avant tout stage clinique. Un cheminement DEC-BAC de 5 ans avec l'UQAT est aussi offert. L'admission se fait par le SRAM.

For Winter 2027, applications opened 15 September 2026, Round 1 closes 1 November 2026 and Round 2 closes 25 November 2026, with unfilled seats carried forward. SRAM has not yet posted Fall 2027 domestic dates. Internationally, SRAM's Fall 2027 window runs 15 March 2026 to 14 March 2027; its next window (Winter 2028) runs 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027. Admission is rolling by round, not a single fixed date. The college's own admissions page still shows a stale Session Automne 2025 round schedule and directs applicants to SRAM's dates page for the current calendar. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
