Diploma in Technologie du génie électrique : automatisation et contrôle is a diploma in Robotics & Automation programme taught at Cégep de l'Abitibi Témiscamingue in Rouyn-Noranda, Canada. The programme runs for 6 semesters, delivered on campus. Teaching is in French. Tuition for international students is CAD 19,610 per year (CAD 3,740 per year for local students).
Technologie du genie electrique - automatisation et controle (code 243.D0) is a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) offered by Cegep de l'Abitibi-Temiscamingue at its Rouyn-Noranda campus, training technologists in industrial automation. The program is delivered through a work-study alternance structure combining coursework with paid work placements, and a university-transfer agreement gives graduates a pathway into a related bachelor's degree. Admission requires Technical and Scientific Mathematics (TS), Natural Sciences Mathematics (SN), or Common Core Mathematics (CST) from the fourth year of Quebec secondary school, plus Science and Technology (STE) or Environmental Science (SE) from the same year. Students work with electrical, electronic, pneumatic, electromechanical, robotic, computer, and networked equipment, learning to install electrical systems, program industrial automated systems, design industrial equipment, and build and test prototypes. Graduates typically work for engineering-consulting firms, industrial employers, municipalities, Hydro-Quebec, and manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment, in roles such as technologist or technician in electrodynamics, instrumentation and control, or automation, industrial programmer, or designer. The program suits students who reason logically, enjoy understanding how systems work, can analyze cause and effect in technical problems, express ideas through diagrams and sketches, and are comfortable with calculation and applied technology.
