Program details
Overview
Tremplin DEC (code 081.06) is a non-program transitional pathway offered by Cegep de l'Abitibi-Temiscamingue at all three of its campuses, for students who want to think through their choice of program further, whose decision is not yet final, or who are missing prerequisites for the program they want to enter. Rather than enrolling directly in a specific program, students follow an individualized plan built in consultation with an academic advisor, made up of general-education and elective courses geared toward the program they are eventually likely to choose. A student may remain in the pathway for a maximum of three consecutive sessions, after which they must apply for admission to a specific program; admission to a program of choice can also be requested after any session, subject to availability. In the first session, students take common general-education courses in physical education, French writing and literature, and English, along with a psychostrategic-learning course; philosophy is added in the second session. No specific secondary-school prerequisite is required to enter the pathway. The program suits students leaving secondary school without a settled career direction, or who need extra time and guided general-education coursework before committing to a specific college program.
Requirements
Application Details
Start Date:September
Application Deadline:Domestic and international applicants to Cégep de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue apply through the shared SRAM portal (admission.sram.qc.ca) serving Montréal-region cégeps. For Winter 2027, applications opened 15 September 2026, Round 1 closes 1 November 2026 and Round 2 closes 25 November 2026, with unfilled seats carried forward. SRAM has not yet posted Fall 2027 domestic dates. Internationally, SRAM's Fall 2027 window runs 15 March 2026 to 14 March 2027; its next window (Winter 2028) runs 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027. Admission is rolling by round, not a single fixed date. The college's own admissions page still shows a stale Session Automne 2025 round schedule and directs applicants to SRAM's dates page for the current calendar. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
