Diploma in Product Design Techniques

Product Design Techniques is a technical Diploma of College Studies (DEC technique, 570.C0) offered at Cegep de Sainte-Foy over three years, with intake in the fall term only. The program trains students in the conception, development and improvement of a variety of industrially manufactured products, combining hand-sketching and 3D-modelling skills with attention to real manufacturing constraints throughout the design process. Students work through the full product-design cycle, from initial concept and sketching to detailed 3D models that account for materials, production methods and manufacturability. The program suits students who want to combine creative design skills with technical and manufacturing knowledge for a career designing consumer or industrial products, and it prepares graduates to work within product-development and manufacturing teams.
