Overview
This bridging (passerelle) pathway allows graduates of the Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in Health, Assistance and Nursing Care to complete the Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Nursing, program code 180.B0, at Cegep de Victoriaville. The pathway totals 2,175 hours of coursework and clinical training, offered on a flexible schedule of two days per week or part-time to accommodate students balancing work and study. Admission requires holding the DEP in Health, Assistance and Nursing Care, Secondary 4 Science and Technology of the Environment (or Science and Environment), and Secondary 5 Chemistry, or completion of two complementary courses in the first two sessions. Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Graduates become eligible to write the licensing examination and register with the Ordre des infirmieres et infirmiers du Quebec (OIIQ) as a registered nurse, building on nursing-assistant competencies gained through the DEP to reach full scope-of-practice nursing knowledge and clinical skills.
