The Northlands College Indigenous Practical Nursing (IPN) Year 2 program is the second year of a two-year, full-time diploma delivered in partnership with the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies. Year 2 builds on the first year of study and prepares students to deliver culturally responsive care that integrates western and Indigenous health approaches, through classroom learning, enhanced labs, practicum placements, and preceptorship experiences that develop skills for supporting diverse communities. Graduates who pass the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination are eligible for licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Saskatchewan and can work as Licensed Practical Nurses in a range of healthcare settings. Entry into Year 2 requires successful completion of Indigenous Practical Nursing Year 1 and transcripts confirming that completion. Before starting any practicum placement, accepted students must submit a current criminal record check, a vulnerable sector check, a Class 5 driver's license, and immunization records. The program runs at the La Ronge campus from August 2026 to June 2027.
