This one-year online certificate trains students in professional baking, from foundational techniques through fine decorating and finishing to the large-quantity production methods used in commercial bakeries. Delivered synchronously online across two semesters, the curriculum covers cake and pastry work, bread production, and food-service safety, following the same learning outcomes as the college's on-campus baking program. Students complete Smart Serve, Safe Food Handler, and CPR certifications, and the program is integrated with Ocean Wise sustainable seafood and Feast On Ontario-sourcing certifications. Graduates are prepared for entry-level roles in bakeries, pastry shops, hotels, and food-service operations, and the certificate provides a pathway into the second year of Centennial's Baking and Pastry Arts Management diploma for students who choose to continue their studies. Before classes begin, students must obtain the equipment and supplies set out in the program's baking tool list, which covers the tools used throughout the two semesters of instruction.
