Diploma in Programming and Application Development is a diploma in Software Engineering programme taught at Collège Communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick in Miramichi, Canada. The programme runs for 60 weeks. Tuition for international students is CAD 18,060 per total (CAD 6,480 per total for local students).
Programming and Application Development is a diploma program offered by the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB) that prepares students to become versatile junior programmers or developers. The curriculum covers object-oriented programming, algorithmic programming, database concepts and SQL, multi-tier and multiplatform application development, front-end and back-end integration, web development including server- and client-side work and the .Net framework, information-systems engineering, and an introduction to artificial intelligence. Coursework is built around developing creativity, adaptability, and independent problem-solving, with ongoing emphasis on teamwork, communication, and a professional programming style. The program is offered at the Bathurst campus and concludes with an integration project that draws the various programming and development skills together. It suits students who enjoy solving problems and working with emerging technologies, who have an analytical, methodical approach to structuring problems and building software solutions, and who also bring communication and interpersonal skills to collaborative development work. Graduates have transfer arrangements toward computer-science and information-management degrees at several partner universities.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Domestic admission follows CCNB's Profile D: a New Brunswick high school diploma (regular, modified, or adult programme), GED, or CCÉA, plus Mathematics 30321B or 30331C. Applicants who do not meet this pathway, including those 21 or older, may instead pass the CCNB admission test; international applicants need an equivalent secondary diploma and must also pass this test. Personal computing equipment is required to complete the programme. As with all CCNB programmes, applicants whose mother tongue is not French, or who have not completed at least three years of French-language secondary schooling or a French-language postsecondary programme, must demonstrate French proficiency through the TFI (minimum score 700), TCF or TEF Canada (level B2), DELF (B2), or DALF (C1).
Application Details
Start Date:September
Application Deadline:Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick publishes no fixed application opening or closing dates, for either domestic or international applicants, for the autumn or winter session; the selection process begins in November for the following academic year, and complete applications are evaluated on a rolling basis as they are received. Rather than calendar deadlines, CCNB publishes a list, refreshed each cycle, of which programmes currently have admissions open (a 2026-27 list is live, covering Automne 2026), and it recommends applying early because some programmes draw more applications than seats available. Once an offer is made, domestic applicants have 30 days to confirm their place, while international applicants have 21 days. No separate international application deadline exists; the same rolling process applies to international applicants. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
