Automotive Mechanics is a certificate program offered by CCNB that trains students to diagnose, maintain, and repair the cars and light trucks people rely on every day. In the college's workshops, students work through the mechanical and electronic systems found in modern vehicles, building the diagnostic and repair skills used in a service bay. The 37-week program, delivered at the Bathurst campus, includes a two-week workplace internship that lets students apply their training in a real shop before graduating. Graduates typically find work as automotive, truck, and bus service mechanics, with experienced technicians able to advance into supervisory roles. It suits students who enjoy hands-on mechanical work, like taking machines apart to understand how they function, are drawn to practical problem-solving, and want the independence of diagnosing and fixing a vehicle themselves.
