Bricklaying and Masonry is a certificate program offered by the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB) that trains students for work as bricklayer-masons. Coursework covers reading construction plans, cutting and shaping masonry units, rigging, and the assembly, erection, and repair of brick, block, and stone masonry work. Students build practical skills through hands-on shop and site-based training that follows trade standards used in residential and commercial construction, working with mortar, structural components, and finishing techniques applied on real job sites. The program totals 37 weeks of training, including a workplace practicum that lets students apply these skills under supervision before graduating. It is offered at the Dieppe campus. Graduates work as bricklayer-masons, known in French as briqueteurs-maçons and briqueteuses-maçonnes, building and repairing masonry structures on residential and commercial construction sites.
