Program details

Overview

Histoire et civilisation is Collège de Bois-de-Boulogne's pre-university DEC (program code 700.B0), built around studying civilizations from Quebec and elsewhere from a historical perspective. It is not a selective (contingent) program. The page highlights a personalized elective structure in which students choose four elective courses each session from more than 40 options aligned with their interests, and describes a dedicated pathway arrangement with Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) that the page presents as giving students a head start into university. Elective choices can also be aimed at meeting prerequisite courses required by specific university programs, and students needing mathematics for admission purposes can take math electives even though no math course is mandatory in the program itself, since graduates are eligible for a wide range of university programs, including the full set of Sciences humaines programs. Entry requires Secondary V Mathematics (CST, or the older 514/416 sequence); students wanting the elective Linear Algebra and Vector Geometry course additionally need Secondary V TS or SN mathematics (or the 526/536 sequence). This program suits students drawn to history and the study of civilizations who also want broad, self-directed elective flexibility and a structured route into UQAM afterward.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Domestic admission to Collège de Bois-de-Boulogne generally requires a Diplome d'etudes secondaires (DES), or a Diplome d'etudes professionnelles (DEP) together with Langue d'enseignement de 5e secondaire, Mathematiques de 4e secondaire and Langue seconde de 5e secondaire, as set out on the college's own admission page. Histoire et civilisation's own page carries no separate "Les prealables" section; instead it states among its benefits that a student may take any mathematics course needed for university admission, "aucun cours de mathematiques n'est obligatoire" (no mathematics course is mandatory for the program itself), so the general DES/DEP basis is the effective bar. No separate English or French language test score is published; French-language schooling is built into the DES/DEP route. Applications go through SRAM (admission.sram.qc.ca), Fall deadline 1 March, Winter deadline 1 November.

Application Details

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through SRAM (admission.sram.qc.ca): the college's page currently shows a fall deadline of 1 March 2026 (the cycle already under way) and a winter 2027 deadline of 1 November 2026; fall 2027 dates were not yet published at the time of this check. International applicants residing outside Canada apply through the college's own international-student process and must submit by 14 March for fall entry or by 31 May of the preceding year for winter entry; the college does not describe either deadline as rolling, though SRAM processes domestic applications in successive rounds while seats remain. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
