Program details

Overview

Techniques d'inhalothérapie is a three-year, full-time technical DEC offered at the main Salaberry-de-Valleyfield campus. The page describes it as training respiratory-care specialists who intervene in cardiorespiratory care, anesthesia support, and diagnostic testing, working with patients across all age groups from newborns to adults. Students learn to carry out diagnostic tests contributing to the identification of pulmonary, cardiac, and sleep-related conditions, and to provide clinical support to anesthesiologists during surgery. Typical work settings named on the page include hospital emergency departments, intensive care, pneumology, cardiorespiratory physiology laboratories, and operating rooms. The program is offered in only twelve Quebec cégeps, and the college states it is the only public institution offering it in the Montérégie region. Training combines classroom instruction with clinical placements (stages) in various sectors across the Montérégie and Montréal regions, supported by an immersive simulation centre equipped with high-fidelity, programmable manikins adjacent to classrooms, along with modern laboratories and a study room reserved for students in the program. It suits students interested in cardiorespiratory health care who want a clinically intensive, hands-on health-sciences technical program.

Aucune entrevue, aucun portfolio et aucune moyenne minimale ne sont exigés sur la page du programme. L'admission se fait aux sessions d'automne et d'hiver, exclusivement par SRAM.
