Program details
Overview
Tremplin DEC is a transitional pathway at Cégep de Valleyfield rather than a program leading to its own diploma. It is designed for students who need to complete secondary-level prerequisite courses before entering a technical or pre-university DEC program, who want to confirm or explore a career choice, who need to raise their academic results to qualify for a contingented program, or who want to build stronger college-level study methods. Students combine general-education courses with targeted upgrading courses in mathematics and science, adjusted to each person's remaining requirements, and benefit from structured support for adapting to college life. The page states the pathway runs a variable length, capped at a maximum of three consecutive sessions, with intakes in fall and winter. It is delivered at the main Salaberry-de-Valleyfield campus, the Centre d'études collégiales de Saint-Constant, and the Centre d'études de Vaudreuil-Dorion, though secondary upgrading courses are not offered at the Saint-Constant site. It suits recent secondary graduates who are undecided on a program, missing admission prerequisites, or looking to strengthen their academic footing before committing to a full DEC.
Requirements
Application Details
Start Date:Automne et hiver
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through SRAM: the college's most recently published Fall cycle (Fall 2026) opened 13 January 2026 with a first-round deadline of 1 March 2026, 23:59, and the same 1 March pattern is expected to recur for Fall 2027; Winter 2027 entry opens mid-September 2026 with a first-round deadline of 1 November 2026, 23:59. Valleyfield publishes no fixed international application dates: for the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 cycles it accepts only international applicants already living in Quebec who completed part of their secondary or vocational studies there, so the general SRAM international calendar does not apply. Admission for domestic applicants is not rolling beyond SRAM's rounds. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
