Diploma in Production scénique : Régie et technique de scène at Collège Lionel Groulx in Sainte-Thérèse, Canada is a diploma in Performing Arts programme. The programme runs for 3 years. Teaching is in French. Tuition is CAD 3,740 per year for local students.
Régie et techniques scéniques is one of two specializations within Production scénique, a technical DEC at Collège Lionel-Groulx introduced in fall 2022 in place of the former Théâtre-Production program, lasting at least three years with fall admission and an entrance interview. The broader Production scénique program trains professionals able to take part in conceiving and mounting a live show in settings such as theatre, musical theatre, opera, circus, dance, music, variety shows, and festivals, with attention to new stage technologies, digital tools, and eco-responsible practice. This specialization concentrates on stage management: assisting direction, running the show during performance, and working across the technical disciplines of lighting, video, sound, and rigging. Students learn to plan and lead meetings, rehearsals, technical run-throughs, and performances, to design lighting cues, soundscapes, and projections, and to direct technical crews during a production. It suits students with an interest in the performing arts who are drawn to technical and organizational work behind the scenes, have manual aptitude and leadership potential, and want to develop expertise across several stagecraft disciplines rather than a single specialty.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission follows Collège Lionel Groulx's general admission conditions: a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES); a Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) plus fifth-secondary French, fifth-secondary second language and fourth-secondary mathematics; training the College judges equivalent; or training and experience the College judges sufficient, with at least 24 cumulative months outside full-time study. Every applicant must show adequate spoken and written French, and anyone without a francophone-sector DES must pass the Bright French-knowledge test the College has adopted, scoring at least 3.7 on the written part, the oral part, and overall. On top of these general conditions, this programme requires candidates to pass an admission interview (an audition), submitted via the programme's audition form before the published deadline; the interview and the applicant's school record are the selection criteria for admission. The programme is contingenté (enrolment-capped), so admission is competitive, and applications go through SRAM.
