Program details

Overview

Technologie du génie industriel is a technical DEC program focused on improving the productivity, quality and cost-efficiency of businesses and organizations. The program page describes industrial engineering technology as touching the human, technical and financial dimensions of a company, with course objectives including improving productivity and resolving operational problems; supervising work teams, managing projects and taking part in decision-making; participating in the implementation of processes, equipment and new technologies; improving work methods and reducing costs; planning and coordinating production and quality control; organizing the layout, movement, handling and storage of materials within a business; and setting up occupational health and safety and equipment-maintenance programs. Students use specialized software named on the page, including AutoCAD for computer-aided drafting, Maintenance Directe for preventive maintenance, Automation Studio for automation, and project- and resource-management tools such as MS Project and Visio. Admission requires the general college conditions plus a Secondary 4 Mathematics prerequisite (TS, SN, 436 or 526); there is no admission quota. The DEC gives access to university programs including industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, production and logistics engineering, administration, human-resources management and industrial relations, and leads to careers as an industrial-engineering technologist responsible for productivity, quality and process improvement within organizations.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Beyond the college's general admission conditions (a DES, or DEP-plus-courses equivalency, or judged-sufficient training/experience, plus adequate French with the Bright test at 3.7 minimum for anyone without a francophone-sector DES), this program (235.B0) requires Mathematics TS or SN Secondary 4 (code 436 or 526). There is no enrolment cap. The program runs three years when started in the fall or 3.5 years when started in the winter, and both intakes are offered. As with all CLG programs, applications go through SRAM (admission.sram.qc.ca), with round-one deadlines of 1 March for a fall start and 1 November for a winter start; individual programs, this one included, can layer their own Ministry-set subject prerequisites onto the college's general conditions, which is the basis for the mathematics prerequisite above.

Application Details

Start Date: September and January
Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM) at admission.sram.qc.ca: the college's own admission page states an equal-consideration date of 1 March for Fall entry and 1 November for Winter entry, which for the 2027 cycle fall on 1 March 2027 (Fall) and 1 November 2026 (Winter), with Winter 2027 applications opening 15 September 2026. Collège Lionel-Groulx does not publish a dedicated international-admissions page of its own; international applicants would follow SRAM's system-wide window, published as 15 March 2026 to 14 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry, though the college has not confirmed this itself. Admission proceeds round by round on a rolling basis after each equal-consideration date until seats are filled. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
