Diploma in Techniques de procédés industriels is a diploma in Industrial & Systems Engineering programme offered by Collège de Maisonneuve in Montréal, Canada. The programme runs for 6 semesters. Teaching is in French. Tuition for international students is CAD 19,610 per year (CAD 3,740 per year for local students).
Techniques de procédés industriels (210.D0) is a six-term technical program at Collège de Maisonneuve leading to a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC); the college is the only cégep on the island of Montreal to offer it. Students learn to control, monitor, and diagnose the operation of industrial process equipment such as pumps, reactors, and computer-based control systems, to contribute to process improvements aimed at sustainable development, to control product quality, and to provide technical support to production. The program is delivered on a campus with laboratories intended to reproduce industrial conditions, and it is closely tied to the Centre d'études des procédés chimiques du Québec (CÉPROCQ), which hosts student placements and practical work using its equipment and researchers. It is also offered in a work-study (alternance travail-études) format from the first year, and students may have the option of a short overseas research-immersion placement at a French university. Along with the DEC, students can pursue three industry-recognized certifications referenced by the college: mechanical systems (fixed machinery), WHMIS 2015, and laboratory biosafety principles. Graduates are positioned for roles across process-driven industrial sectors, including chemical manufacturing, petrochemicals, bioprocessing, materials recovery, mining, and pulp and paper. It suits students interested in hands-on industrial and chemical process work.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Techniques de procédés industriels (210.D0) requires the DES (Diplôme d'études secondaires) or equivalent training, plus a mathematics prerequisite (Technico-sciences or Sciences naturelles at 4e secondaire, or Mathématiques 526) and a science prerequisite, met by Science et technologie together with Science et technologie de l'environnement, or Applications technologiques et scientifiques together with Sciences et environnement, or the older Sciences physiques 436, all at 4e secondaire. Candidates must hold or be completing these prerequisites and may need to pass programme-specific tests. Applications go exclusively through the SRAM (admission.sram.qc.ca). Adults with prior college or university study may access an intensive DEC format, and Sport-Études athletes follow Alliance Sport-Études criteria. International applicants must additionally meet the college's own requirements: an equivalent-to-baccalauréat credential and French at level B2 in all four skills (TEF, TCF tout public, CIEP or Bright-langue).
