Diploma in Sciences de la nature et Arts visuels is a diploma in Visual Arts programme taught at Collège Montmorency in Laval, Canada. The programme runs for 3 years. Teaching is in French. Tuition is CAD 3,740 per year for local students.
This Double DEC pairs the pre-university Sciences de la nature program with the pre-university Arts visuels program at Collège Montmorency, allowing students to complete both diplomas in three years of combined study. The science component covers mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, the standard route into university science, health and engineering programs. The visual-arts component combines studio work in drawing, painting, sculpture and digital media with art history and theory, preparing students for university or specialized visual-arts and design programs. Because the program merges two full pre-university curricula rather than following one after another, it runs a year longer than a single DEC and carries a heavier course load, with admission requiring that students meet the entrance requirements of both individual programs. Graduates are awarded two separate Diplômes d'études collégiales. The pairing suits students who want to pursue rigorous scientific training together with a genuine visual-arts practice, rather than having to choose between the two before university.
