Overview
The Job Education Training (JET) certificate consists of five courses - each course is designed for students with barriers to employment to help explore and gain skills needed in today's job market. You will explore their own current skills and become aware of how those skills relate to employability. Effective workplace communication is demonstrated and assessed in the classroom and on the job. Students are introduced to different forms of technology that are used to access the current job market. Job search and employment readiness skills are introduced so they can be applied in work experiences in the community.

Requirements
Admission Requirements: The Job Education and Training Certificate is a limited-enrolment programme, capped at 15 students, designed for applicants who face barriers to employment and/or have a diagnosed or undiagnosed disability. Rather than fixed academic grades, coordinators assess applicants holistically against four criteria scored out of 20 - desire to work, basic communication skills, independence (e.g. transportation), and prior work or volunteer experience - with preference given to a combined score of 12 or higher; a high school transcript, reference letters, a list of work/volunteer experience, and documentation of disability are requested where available, followed by a meeting with the instructor and coordinator to confirm suitability. Applications are accepted year-round. The programme page does not set its own English-language proficiency scores; non-native English speakers must meet CNC's institution-wide requirement, published on its admission-requirements page: IELTS Academic overall 6.0 (no band below 6.0), TOEFL iBT overall 80 (no section below 17), PTE Academic overall 59 (no section below 55), CAEL overall 60+ (no subtest below 60), CELPIP General with no section below 7, or Duolingo English Test overall 110, scores valid two years.

Application Deadline:College of New Caledonia runs first-qualified, first-accepted admissions with no single deadline for most programmes. Domestic and international applicants use the same process, though international students also go through CNC's international application page: applications for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 entry are open now, and applications for Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 entry open on 1 October 2026. Seats are assessed on a rolling basis and close once a programme fills or the term begins; CNC advises applying as soon as applications open, and international applicants typically get an offer letter within four to six weeks. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Northern Collaborative Baccalaureate Nursing Program) and the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Diploma are exceptions, each carrying a fixed 1 March application-and-documentation deadline. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
