Overview

The Computer Information Systems Technology Diploma is designed to equip you with software, programming, and hardware skills needed to support the systems that are commonly used in businesses, government agencies, utilities, law enforcement agencies, health services providers, and educational institutions. This program will prepare you for a career in computer systems and software implementation and support. Such careers are well paying and expected to continue in high and growing demand in the region and across the Province.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: The Computer Information Systems Technology Diploma requires a minimum grade of C (60%) in one of English Studies 12, English First Peoples 12, or Provincial English (Literature-based), and a minimum grade of C (60%) in one of Foundations of Mathematics 11, Pre-Calculus 11, Computer Science 11, or Mathematics - Advanced Level. Applicants for whom English is a second language must meet College of the Rockies' English Language proficiency requirements. Basic computer literacy is expected, including Windows operating-system and file-management skills, word-processing software, and the ability to communicate, research, exchange and download files using web browsing and email.

Application Deadline: Domestic and international applicants to College of the Rockies both apply through EducationPlannerBC. For the 2027-28 academic year the general application window opens 1 November 2026, and applications received by 28 February 2027 get priority processing for Fall 2027 entry; admission is otherwise rolling with no fixed closing date. International applicants get a decision about two weeks after a complete application, with no separate published international deadline. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is competitive-entry: its window runs 1 November 2026 to 15 February 2027, with final transcripts due 28 February 2027 for Fall 2027 admission. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
