Overview
The PhD in History is a thesis-based doctoral program in Concordia University's Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Science, that allows students to gain expertise across a broad range of topics, including law and society, media and popular culture, and transnationalism and empire. Students join a research community and can engage with affiliated centres such as the Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling as they complete an original research thesis under faculty supervision. The program encourages students to respond to critical social issues through new and interesting approaches to research. The degree requires 90 credits and has a nominal full-time duration of four years, based at the Sir George Williams campus. New students are admitted in the fall term only.
