Overview
In this certificate program, you will develop the necessary technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills to enhance your role as an effective office team member. Once you graduate, you will be prepared to apply to roles such as executive assistant, administrative assistant, records management technician, general office support worker, receptionist, data entry clerk, accounting and related clerk, payroll administrator, publication and regulatory clerk, and other customer and information services representative positions. With various hands-on practical experience and creative thinking skills, graduates are trained to meet the demands of today's challenging work environment.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or mature student status for applicants 19 years of age or older, with Grade 12 compulsory English at the C (minimum 60%) or U (minimum 50%) level, or Conestoga's Preparatory Communications (COMM1251) at a minimum of 60%. Applicants whose prior instruction was not in English must demonstrate proficiency per Conestoga's published requirements, which for certificate programs is IELTS Academic 6.0 with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80 with no skill below 20, PTE Academic 53, or Duolingo 110. Applicants missing the English prerequisite may pursue Conestoga's Academic Upgrading pathway. Canadian citizens and permanent residents with international transcripts require a course-by-course credential evaluation from an approved provider such as ICAS or WES.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca (college code CONS): for the Fall 2027 intake the online application opens 26 September 2026, the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and accepted offers must be confirmed by 1 May 2027; most oversubscribed programs stop accepting applications after 1 February 2027, though many programs remain open afterward. Conestoga does not publish a separate equal-consideration date for its January intake. International applicants apply directly to Conestoga and are assessed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until each program fills; no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
