Program details

Overview

Payroll Management is a part-time, online certificate from Conestoga's continuing education division for payroll practitioners ready to move into management - the next step for Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certification holders. Building on that foundation, courses cover core management subjects such as decision-making and project management along with human resources topics, and prepare students for the Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation with the National Payroll Institute. All courses must be successfully completed within two years of acceptance into the program.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: This part-time continuing-education program requires successful completion of Conestoga's Payroll Administration program, an equivalent program from another institution recognized by the National Payroll Institute, or Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certification, plus a minimum of two years' experience within the past five years being responsible for an organization's payroll function, including accountability to management for pay accuracy and statutory remittances (or equivalent experience). Applicants must submit a Payroll Experience Prerequisite Application and receive approval from the Canadian Payroll Association before enrolling in the Introduction to Payroll Management course. The program page does not state a standardized English-language test score.

Application Details

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca (college code CONS): for the Fall 2027 intake the online application opens 26 September 2026, the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and accepted offers must be confirmed by 1 May 2027; most oversubscribed programs stop accepting applications after 1 February 2027, though many programs remain open afterward. Conestoga does not publish a separate equal-consideration date for its January intake. International applicants apply directly to Conestoga and are assessed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until each program fills; no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
