Overview
Commercial Flight Operations is a two-year Ontario College Diploma delivered in hybrid format at Conestoga's Milton - Steeles Avenue location for aspiring professional pilots. Modern flight simulators provide practical training with advanced avionics and realistic emergency scenarios in varied weather conditions. Students have the option to concurrently complete flight training that qualifies them to apply for a Canadian Commercial Pilot Licence endorsed with a Multi-Engine Instrument Rating, and applicants holding a Private Pilot Licence can seek credit transfers for related groundschool courses.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Domestic entry: an OSSD or equivalent, or mature-student standing at 19 or older, with Grade 12 English (C or U) or Preparatory Communications (COMM1251); Grade 11 or 12 Physics (C or U); and Grade 12 Mathematics at 75% in MCT4C or 65% in MDM4U, MHF4U or MCV4U, or 75% in Preparatory Mathematics for Technology and Apprenticeship (MATH1385). A Transport Canada Category 1 Medical is required. Conestoga states that applicants presenting MAP4C are not considered; they may be reconsidered after sitting the college's mathematics pre-admission test, where minimum grade cut-offs apply, and may instead be offered a place in the one-year Technology Foundations program, which acts as a preparatory route into this diploma. International applicants: Conestoga's standard diploma and certificate English minimums apply - IELTS Academic 6.0 with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80 with no skill below 20, PTE Academic 53, or Duolingo 110. Anyone holding transcripts from outside Canada, Canadian citizens and permanent residents included, needs a course-by-course credential evaluation from a service such as ICAS or WES, and must show English proficiency if the language of instruction was not English.
Application Details
Start Date:Intake month: September. Start dates listed by Conestoga on 6 September 2026, for domestic and international applicants alike: September 2026 at Milton – Steeles Avenue. An individual campus intake may already be closed.
Application Deadline:This program sets its own admission dates on top of the college-wide application cycle. Applicants who meet the academic minimums must complete an online digital questionnaire and are then invited to a mandatory 15-minute Zoom interview; the questionnaire and interview scores are combined with academic achievement to decide admission. Conestoga states that admission decisions are based on the marks available in mid-February. A further program-specific deadline applies after admission: a Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate must reach the Registrar's Office by 1 August of your entry year. The minimum cut-offs are an academic strength of 70% with a minimum math mark of 75% in MCT4C or equivalent, or 65% in one of MHF4U or MCV4U, and meeting them does not guarantee an offer. The college-wide cycle still applies: domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca, where the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027 for entry in Fall 2027, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and an offer must be confirmed by 1 May 2027. The September 2026 intake at Milton - Steeles Avenue was listed as closed on 6 September 2026.
