Overview
Conestoga's newly developed Fire Services diploma program provides you with a two-year integrated learning experience to develop the knowledge, skills, and values of a preferred candidate in public fire services and private fire prevention industries and insurance investigations. Major areas of study include fire prevention and associated legalities that shape the fire and life safety industry, fire safety planning, emergency management, education and skills for fire suppression principles and practice and first responder emergency care. This diploma program provides you with a strong preparation for a career with todays and tomorrow’s fire safety industry.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: This diploma is not currently accepting Level 1 students; the only pathway the page describes is advanced standing into Level 4, beginning January 2027, for graduates of a Pre-Service Firefighter Education and Training programme (an Ontario College Certificate in a Pre-Service Firefighter Program). Conestoga graduates apply using the college's Advanced Standing Application form, while graduates of other institutions apply through Ontario Colleges, with final selection following an assessment of the stated admission requirements. Applicants holding transcripts from outside Canada require a course-by-course credential evaluation through an approved provider such as ICAS or WES, and applicants whose prior instruction was not in English must demonstrate proficiency; the page defers this to Conestoga's institution-wide scale of IELTS Academic overall 6.0 (no band under 5.5), TOEFL iBT 80 (no skill under 20), PTE Academic 53, CAEL 70 (writing at least 60), or Duolingo English Test 110.
