Admission Requirements: This is a graduate certificate, so entry rests on a completed post-secondary credential rather than secondary school. Conestoga accepts a university degree, an Ontario College Advanced Diploma or an Ontario College Diploma - or an equivalent qualification - in any one of the following fields: social work; early childhood education; child and youth care; developmental services; education; psychology; sociology. An acceptable combination of at least five years of related work and personal experience is also accepted in place of the credential. Before field or clinical placement, health and safety documents including TB testing must be completed in the semester beforehand. International applicants: Conestoga lists this program at the higher degree-level English minimums - IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 88 with no skill below 22, PTE Academic 58, or Duolingo 120. Anyone holding transcripts from outside Canada, Canadian citizens and permanent residents included, needs a course-by-course credential evaluation from a service such as ICAS or WES, and must show English proficiency if the language of instruction was not English.
