Construction Management (Optional Co-op) is a two-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate at Conestoga College's Cambridge - Fountain Street campus, delivered in a hybrid format combining in-person and online activity, with a May intake. The program is designed for international students; domestic students pursuing construction management should instead take Construction Project Management (program 0895). The curriculum covers investment appraisal of development projects, and the planning, scheduling, budgeting and control of construction projects, alongside leadership, communication and negotiation skills. Students learn to integrate construction methods, building codes and lean construction techniques into project work through case studies, group work and field trips, culminating in a capstone project applying and synthesizing program learning to a real-world project. An optional co-op stream substitutes one co-op work term for the Guided Career Management course. The program prepares students for professional certification exams including CAPM, PMP, PQS and Gold Seal, and requires a laptop for coursework.
