Overview

Crandall University's English program is built around the study of literature, from writers such as Chaucer, Shakespeare, and Austen to modern authors including C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, alongside Canadian and American literature and literary criticism. It is offered as a Major, a Major with a Creative Writing concentration, an Honours track, a Minor, and a Minor in Creative Writing. Students may spend one semester at Regent's Park College, University of Oxford, studying as Associate Students of Shakespeare and drama. The program can be paired with Crandall's TESL Certificate, which prepares graduates to teach English as a Second Language and assists with finding teaching positions overseas. The credential awarded is a Bachelor of Arts. Recent graduates have gone into administration, education, Christian ministries, creative writing, journalism, law, public relations, and public service. The page does not publish credit-hour totals for the Major, Honours, or Minor options separately.
