International Business is a major within Dalhousie University's Bachelor of Commerce program, offered as a mandatory co-operative education degree. The program combines core business and management training with an interdisciplinary focus on international trade, cross-cultural management, and global economic analysis, with options to concentrate on a world region such as the Americas, the European Union, Russia and Eastern Europe, Asia, or developing nations. Students complete three paid co-op work terms integrated throughout the four-year degree, with at least one semester -- academic or work term -- required to be completed internationally. The program is based on the Halifax campus and admits students each September. It is accredited by AACSB International and by CEWIL Canada for its co-operative education model. Graduates are prepared for careers in international trade, global market analysis, and cross-border business management, supported by practical international work or study experience gained during their degree.
