Overview
The Radiological Technology program is a four-year Bachelor of Health Sciences degree delivered on campus through Dalhousie's School of Health Sciences. It trains students to use x-radiation to produce diagnostic images of patient anatomy, with coursework covering anatomy, physiology, radiation physics, imaging equipment operation, and clinical procedures such as radiography, fluoroscopy, CT scanning, mammography, and interventional radiology. Clinical training combines theory with hands-on practice: students complete six-to-eight-week summer practicums in years one through three, and third-year students take clinical education courses directly in health care settings, with placements occurring throughout Atlantic Canada and potentially beyond. Graduates must pass national registration exams administered by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists to earn the Registered Technologist in Radiological Technology designation. Admission is competitive, with the program describing an annual intake of 26 students and priority given to qualified Nova Scotia residents; international applicants are not considered. The program suits students who enjoy patient interaction, technical and detail-oriented work, and functioning under pressure in clinical environments, and who are prepared for placements involving direct contact with unwell patients.

Admission Requirements: Dalhousie's Radiological Technology program admits from two routes. High-school applicants need Grade 12 academic English, Math, Physics and one of Chemistry or Biology, with no mark below 70% in any of these courses and an overall average of at least 75%. Applicants with prior post-secondary study need a minimum GPA of 2.75 on Dalhousie's 4.30 health-sciences scale, with no grade below C in prerequisite courses. All applicants must submit the required non-academic documents. The program accepts 26 students a year; qualified Nova Scotia residents are given priority, followed by other Maritime provinces and then the rest of Canada. International applicants cannot be admitted to this Bachelor of Health Sciences program, and admission is competitive: meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee a seat.

Application Deadline:Dalhousie's live Dates and Deadlines page still shows the September 2026 entry cycle as of mid-September 2026, not the 2027 cycle. For that cycle, Bachelor of Science (Nursing), Bachelor of Health Sciences, Bachelor of Science (Medical Sciences) and Bachelor of Social Work close February 15, 2026; the Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies (Architecture) closes March 1, 2026; and the Health Sciences post-diploma option closes June 15, 2026. All other undergraduate programmes are considered on a rolling, space-available basis for both domestic and international applicants, with no separate international closing date published; May 15, 2026 is only the deposit and English-proficiency deadline, not an application deadline. Dalhousie has not yet published September 2027 entry dates. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
