Overview
In the Applied Audio Advanced Certificate, you’ll get instruction on technologies and techniques for live audio, post-production, video game music, audio-visual storytelling, human auditory processing, mastering and immersive audio. This advanced certificate is designed for those that have a music diploma or equivalent, and it will give you direct experience with professional setups using game industry software such as Wwise and the Unreal Engine, and recording studios with consoles and monitoring systems.

Admission Requirements: Beyond Douglas College's General College Admission Requirements, this Advanced Certificate in Applied Audio requires a music-specific diploma of at least 60 undergraduate credits including MUSC 1182, MUSC 1282 and MUSC 2273 (or their equivalents); graduates of Douglas College's own Music Technology Diploma are deemed to meet this. Applicants must also demonstrate technology competency in Pro Tools and listening-skill competency in frequency recognition, dynamic-processing identification and stereo-field positioning. Applicants must meet the College's English Language Proficiency requirement (for example IELTS Academic overall 6.5, TOEFL iBT 83, PTE Academic 56, or Duolingo English Test 110).
