Overview

The Interactive Media Developer (IMD) Technician Certificate prepares you to work locally in the world of software development. You'll learn the skills you need to take an idea or a problem and develop it from concept to production. You’ll get the opportunity to write professional documentation, design and implement stories or games, and apply your knowledge to create your own interactive experiences. Optional work terms will complement your coursework with added hands-on experience. Possible careers include junior application or web developer, and junior graphic designer.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission to the Interactive Media Developer Technician Certificate requires one of: a C in English 12, a C in English 12 Camosun Alternative, or a C in ENGL 130; and one of: a C+ in Pre-Calculus 11, a C in Math 12, a C in Apprenticeship Math 12, a C+ in MATH 073, a C+ in MATH 077, a C+ in MATH 137, a C in MATH 097, or a C in MATH 139. No overall or programme-specific English-language test score (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo, CAEL) is published on the programme's own admissions page; applicants meet the language requirement through the stated English 12-equivalent course, with proof of the grade or higher required at application.
