Diploma in Massage Therapy (Transfer Pathway for Ontario Tech University Kinesiology Degree)

This advanced diploma pathway is for graduates of Ontario Tech University's Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) Kinesiology program who want to complete Durham College's Massage Therapy credential. Admitted students join Semester 3 of the Massage Therapy program at the Oshawa campus and complete four consecutive semesters of study before graduating. Coursework builds on the applicant's prior kinesiology training in anatomy and physiology, adding massage-specific clinical technique, assessment, and treatment planning. Students gain hands-on clinical experience through supervised placements at the college's DC Spa teaching clinic and community placement sites, working directly with clients under instructor supervision. The curriculum is delivered in person and prepares graduates to write the registration examinations required to become a Registered Massage Therapist in Ontario. On completion, graduates hold both a kinesiology degree and a massage therapy advanced diploma, qualifying them for clinical practice, sports and rehabilitation settings, or further study in allied health fields.
