The programme totals 45 credits: a minimum of 24 and maximum of 39 credits of graduate coursework, 9 to 15 credits of project or internship work, and up to 6 credits of undergraduate-level (4000-series) courses. Students determine the topic of each project or internship with their academic advisor, subject to approval. Admission to the clinical engineering option must be completed through Universite de Montreal. Graduates receive the degree of Maitrise en ingenierie (M.Ing.).

Admission Requirements: Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in science, applied science, or engineering (or a professional degree in medicine, veterinary medicine, or dental medicine) relevant to biomedical engineering, with a minimum cumulative average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale in their undergraduate studies, or the recognized equivalent. Candidates who do not meet this minimum average may request an exception by presenting evidence of aptitude for graduate study, such as relevant professional experience or further studies completed after the bachelor's degree. Admission to the professional master's, clinical engineering option, must be made through Universite de Montreal.
