Overview

Upon graduating from this accounting degree, you may be eligible to complete a Master’s degree program at many other post-secondary institutions or complement your degree with a graduate certificate offered by Fanshawe. You may also have the required knowledge to pursue industry designation(s). Professional designations often require two or more years of relevant work experience, or the writing of an exam, in addition to completing your academic studies. You may be eligible for the Project Management Institute educational component for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certificate.

Minimum GPA: 65.00 / %

Admission Requirements: Direct entry from an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or mature-applicant status) requires Grade 12 English (U) and Grade 12 Mathematics (U), each at a minimum final grade of 65%, four further Grade 12 U or M courses, and a final minimum average of 65% across the highest six Grade 12 (U or M) courses. Applicants holding a non-related two-year college diploma qualify with an overall GPA of 3.0 plus Grade-12-equivalent U-level Math and English; applicants transferring from university qualify with a minimum average of 65% across their last ten full-credit (or equivalent) courses, plus the same Math/English prerequisites. International applicants whose first language is not English must meet one of: IELTS Academic overall 6.5 (no band below 6.0); TOEFL iBT overall 5 (no band below 4.5); CAEL overall 70 (no band below 60); PTE Academic minimum 58 (no band below 50); Cambridge English overall 176 (no skill below 169); ESL4/GAP5 80% at Level 9 or 75% at Level 10; Duolingo overall 120 (no component below 105); or LanguageCert Academic overall 70 (no skill below 65).

Application Details

Start Date: September (full-time); January and May (online part-time)

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for Fall 2027 entry, applications open in early October 2026 and the equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027, after which later applications are assessed on a first-come basis until seats fill; non-competitive programs begin receiving offers from 1 November 2026, competitive-program offers go out by 30 March 2027, and 1 May 2027 is the usual deadline to accept an offer. International applicants apply directly to Fanshawe (CAD 100 fee) and face fixed document deadlines rather than a single closing date: for the current intakes, study-permit and conditions-met documents are due 10/15 August 2026 (Fall), 9/15 December 2026 (Winter) and 5/15 April 2027 (Summer); missing a deadline can mean deferral to the next intake. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
