Overview

This three-year advanced diploma offers students comprehensive training in the design, maintenance, and repair of electromechanical systems and components. Designed for students with no prior post-secondary experience, this program covers a wide range of critical skills in the electromechanical field. Students will learn to analyze, modify, and maintain complex systems, as well as gain expertise in robotics, PLC automation, and pneumatic control circuits. Through this training, students will be eligible for FANUC Robotics Certification via Fanshawe’s FANUC Robotics Certified Education Robot Training.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Domestic entry requires an OSSD, or equivalent, or mature-applicant status, with Grade 12 Math (C or U); MCT4C is preferred, and Grade 12 Foundations for College Math may not provide adequate academic preparation for this program. English proficiency for applicants whose first language is not English: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 79, PTE Academic 53, CAEL 60 with no band below 50 and 80 in listening, Cambridge English 169 with no skill below 162, or Duolingo 105 with no sub-score below 95.

Application Details

Start Date: September and January

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for Fall 2027 entry, applications open in early October 2026 and the equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027, after which later applications are assessed on a first-come basis until seats fill; non-competitive programs begin receiving offers from 1 November 2026, competitive-program offers go out by 30 March 2027, and 1 May 2027 is the usual deadline to accept an offer. International applicants apply directly to Fanshawe (CAD 100 fee) and face fixed document deadlines rather than a single closing date: for the current intakes, study-permit and conditions-met documents are due 10/15 August 2026 (Fall), 9/15 December 2026 (Winter) and 5/15 April 2027 (Summer); missing a deadline can mean deferral to the next intake. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
