Fanshawe College offers Diploma in Acting for Screen and Stage, a diploma in Performing Arts programme in London, Canada. The programme runs for 2 years, delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition for international students is CAD 37,408 per total (CAD 10,556 per total for local students).
Over two years, this diploma has students complete collaborative, media-based projects alongside other Fanshawe programs, recreating real-world production environments as part of the coursework. The first year is based primarily at the London Downtown Campus and introduces the foundations of acting with an emphasis on stage performance, while general education courses are taken at the main campus. The second year splits time between both campuses and covers film performance, motion capture, green-screen and virtual-set work; students also learn voice work for animation, film and video games, together with stage-and-screen combat technique. The program concludes in a showcase evening of live and projected student work. Students study in dedicated lab and theatre spaces, including large green-screen studios, and take part in guest talks and field trips connected to the entertainment industry. Graduates leave with a professional portfolio that can include an on-camera demo reel, a voice demo and recorded monologues, and can apply for ACTRA apprentice membership if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents, with a mentorship meeting arranged with an ACTRA representative during the fourth level of study.
