Overview
This certificate's curriculum covers crisis communications, incident management, relevant legislation and personal health and wellness, following current industry standards. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or admission as a mature applicant holding Grade 12 English at College level (C) with a minimum grade of 75%, or University level (U) with a minimum of 65%; applicants short of this are directed to academic upgrading. This is a competitive certificate: Fanshawe receives more qualified applicants than seats, and completing the Public Safety Fundamentals preparatory program strengthens an application. Where applicants outnumber seats Fanshawe ranks by preference for Ontario permanent residents, receipt of application by 1 February, then achievement in the admission requirements. Before placement, students must hold a Standard First Aid certificate with CPR Level C, and pass a police record and judicial matters check.
