Overview

Game - Programming (T163) is a three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma at George Brown College's Waterfront Campus teaching the technical foundations of the gaming industry: C and C++, artificial intelligence and 3D graphics. Guided by School of Design faculty, students collaborate with game design students to build games in team settings that mirror industry practice, preparing for programming roles with Toronto-area developers and publishers. January starters attend summer classes, and a fully online variant is offered as T193.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including Grade 12 English at the C or U level and Grade 11 Math (M or U) or Grade 12 Math (C or U); attending a program information session is recommended. Applicants 19 or older without an OSSD may apply as mature students and sit George Brown's Admissions Assessment for English and Math, or upgrade to obtain the needed credit. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission, and applicants may need grades above the stated minimum given competitive demand. College or university credits may qualify for course exemptions through the Transfer Guide. International applicants should consult George Brown's International Admissions page for country-specific academic and English-proficiency requirements.
