Requirements

Admission Requirements: Entry requires a completed diploma or bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Business, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering or Science; applicants holding a credential in an unrelated field must submit transcripts and a resumé for review and may be asked to complete an online interview. Python programming skills are required. Applicants with international transcripts who do not provide English-proficiency test results must test at the college level in the George Brown Polytechnic English assessment to be considered for admission; no specific IELTS, TOEFL or equivalent score is published on the programme page itself. Domestic applicants apply through Ontario Colleges and international applicants through the George Brown Polytechnic Online Application System.

Start Date: Intakes: September (Fall), January (Winter) and May (Spring). In the published 2026-27 cycle, Fall 2026 classes begin 8 September 2026; Winter 2027 classes begin 11 January 2027; Spring 2027 classes begin 3 May 2027.

DOMESTIC applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for programs starting in Fall 2027 the application opens on 26 September 2026, colleges may release offers from 1 November 2026, the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027 (applications completed by that date are ranked together, and later ones are then handled first-come, first-served while seats remain), and an offer for a September start must be accepted by 1 May 2027, with the tuition deposit due in June 2027. INTERNATIONAL applicants have no fixed deadline: they apply directly to George Brown and are assessed selectively on a rolling basis until the intake is full, so a program can close early. In the 2026-27 cycle George Brown opened the September 2026 intake on 6 October 2025, January 2027 on 2 February 2026 and May 2027 on 1 June 2026.
