Overview

The Science program at Cégep Heritage College is a pre-university program that provides the scientific foundations needed for university study, drawing on five disciplines. Biology covers cellular and molecular structure and function and how life forms evolve in changing environments. Chemistry covers atomic and molecular structure, reactions in solution, chemical equilibrium and organic compounds. Computer science introduces programming concepts such as variables, data structures, conditionals, loops and functions applied to scientific problems. Mathematics covers functions, statistics, vectors and matrices to support scientific modelling. Physics covers the fundamental interactions of matter and energy and their application to modelling and problem-solving. Students apply the scientific method through experiments that build laboratory skills, and the program concludes with an Integration Project course in which students synthesize their learning into a multidisciplinary project. The program is described as preparing students for university study in fields such as engineering, health sciences, biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics and physics, and it suits students who want a broad, discipline-spanning scientific foundation before specializing at the university level.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Science (Ministry code 200.B1). Specific prerequisites exactly as published on the program-requirements table: TS5 or SN5 mathematics, and Chemistry 5, and Physics 5. Additional Heritage College criterion stated on the same table: applicants with a Secondary 5 math grade below 70% are streamed into the Pre-Calculus profile.

Application Details

Start Date: Fall
Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through SRAM: the Winter 2027 intake opened 15 September 2026, with a round-1 deadline of 1 November 2026 and a round-2 deadline of 25 November 2026; Fall 2027 round dates had not been posted as of September 2026, though the college's own page shows a recurring pattern of applications opening in mid-January and round 1 closing 1 March. International applicants apply through the same SRAM service: the Fall 2027 window opened 15 March 2026 and closes 14 March 2027, after which no international candidate can be admitted; the equivalent Winter deadline for the current cycle (31 May 2026, for Winter 2027 entry) has already passed. Admission runs in fixed rounds rather than staying open indefinitely, though later rounds absorb remaining seats. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
