Admission Requirements: Cégep de l'Outaouais is a French-language public cégep in Gatineau, Quebec, and a member of the SRAM (Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain) network. DOMESTIC APPLICANTS. To be admitted to a program leading to the Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC), a candidate must: hold a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) from the youth or adult sector; OR hold a Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) and have passed langue d'enseignement de la 5e secondaire, langue seconde de la 5e secondaire and mathématiques de la 4e secondaire (or a DEP taken on a DEP-DEC continuity pathway); OR have training the college judges equivalent — plus, where applicable, the Ministry's own particular admission conditions (course prerequisites) and the college's own particular conditions for each program. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS, outside Canada without temporary status: apply via admission.sram.qc.ca as an international candidate; admission is offered for the Fall session only, by a deadline of 14 March of the year of entry; a Bright French test average of at least 3.7 is required. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS, already in Canada on a temporary status: apply via admission.sram.qc.ca as a regular candidate; admission is possible for Fall or Winter, though the program offering is more limited for Winter entry since most technical programs only start in Fall; the recommended first-round deadline is 1 March for Fall entry and 1 November for Winter entry (to leave enough time for immigration document processing); later-round dates are published on SRAM's site; a Bright French test average of at least 3.5 is required. For both international groups: a French test is mandatory in every DEC program at Cégep de l'Outaouais — even for candidates schooled in French. Other accepted tests and minimums: TCF tout public 500-599 (C1) — TCF Québec and TCF Canada are NOT accepted; TEF (since 2019) 500-599 (C1) — TEF Québec, TEF Canada and TEF Express are NOT accepted; DALF C1. Costs (current year): tuition for international students CAD 7,354 to 11,398 per session depending on program (ministry-set, subject to annual increases — some students may be exempt); ancillary fees of roughly CAD 180/session; mandatory health insurance CAD 1,080/year (CAD 90/month), waived for holders of a Quebec RAMQ card. Fees must be paid in full before classes start; no payment plan is offered, and the college asks international students to be physically in Canada before paying, given refund complexity if a session is cancelled.
