Program details

Overview

This program is a two-year pre-university Diplome d'etudes collegiales (DEC) built around mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics, with the balance of coursework depending on the profile chosen. The Sciences de la sante profile emphasizes biology and chemistry alongside mathematics, physics, and computing, and is oriented toward university programs in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, biomedical sciences, optometry, or nutrition. The Sciences pures et appliquees profile offers more flexibility, combining mathematics, programming, chemistry, biology, and physics with two electives from scientific disciplines, and leads toward engineering, mathematics, computer science, actuarial science, or physics. Both profiles are delivered full-time over two years at the college's Montreal campus, with coursework integrated across semesters. The program suits students with a strong secondary-school background in mathematics, physics, and chemistry who intend to pursue university studies in health, pure, or applied sciences and want a rigorous, discipline-based foundation before specializing further at university.

Requirements

Minimum GPA: 75.00 / %
Admission Requirements: Applicants need the Quebec Diploma of Secondary Studies (DES), including Secondary 5 language of instruction, Secondary 5 second language, Secondary 4 mathematics, Secondary 4 science or technology, and Secondary 4 history and citizenship education, per Brebeuf's general Quebec-resident admission requirements. The Natural Sciences programme's own page additionally requires Secondary 5 Mathematics in the Natural Sciences or Technico-Sciences sequence, plus Secondary 5 Physics and Secondary 5 Chemistry, and states a minimum secondary-school average of 75% overall with a minimum 72% average in science subjects specifically, both calculated from compulsory Secondary 4 and 5 coursework. No language proficiency test, portfolio or interview is required; the programme's page asks only for a demonstrated willingness to engage academically, socially and in the community.

Application Details

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants to Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf may apply directly to the college or through SRAM. As published on the college's own site, Automne 2026 admissions are now closed, and Hiver (Winter) 2027 admissions open on 15 September 2026 at noon; the college's FAQ separately recommends applying before 1 March each year since spots are limited, though no year is attached to that recurring advice and Automne 2027 dates are not yet posted. International candidates cannot apply for the Winter session unless they already hold a CAQ and study permit, and no fixed international deadline is published for the Fall intake. Admission is not stated as fully rolling; places are limited and early domestic files are favoured. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
