Program details

Overview

Known at Cégep Heritage College as Springboard, this option lets students take general college-level courses, remedial upgrading courses and select complementary courses before moving into a regular Diploma of College Studies (DEC) program. The page states it is a preparatory session and does not itself lead to a DEC; students are encouraged to consult an academic advisor before switching into a full diploma program. It suits students who have not completed the prerequisites needed for a specific program, who want to sample courses from different programs before choosing one, who want to strengthen study skills and academic performance, or who found high school difficult and want a lower-pressure transition to college study. Enrolment is full-time, and the general education courses taken during this option are credited toward whatever regular DEC program the student later enters; other elective courses depend on the student's goals. Students not currently attending the college apply through SRAM, while those already admitted or enrolled apply internally through Omnivox. A Secondary School Diploma remains an admission requirement, as it is for all college-level studies at the institution.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Heritage College's Tremplin DEC (Springboard) page states that a Secondary School Diploma (DES) is required, as it is for all college-level study at the CEGEP; unlike most Heritage programs it lists no further course-level prerequisite, because Tremplin exists specifically for students who have not yet completed the prerequisites needed for their intended Diploma of College Studies program. Under the institution's general Quebec-applicant admission requirements, the DES itself must include Secondary 4 Science or Physical Science, Secondary 4 Math, Secondary 4 History, Secondary 5 Language of Instruction and Secondary 5 Second Language. Tremplin is a one-session preparatory program and does not itself lead to a Diploma of College Studies; students progress from it into a regular DCS program once their missing prerequisites are completed. Neither page states a standardized English or French test score, an admission GPA, or a fixed intake date for this Quebec domestic pathway.

Application Details

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through SRAM: the Winter 2027 intake opened 15 September 2026, with a round-1 deadline of 1 November 2026 and a round-2 deadline of 25 November 2026; Fall 2027 round dates had not been posted as of September 2026, though the college's own page shows a recurring pattern of applications opening in mid-January and round 1 closing 1 March. International applicants apply through the same SRAM service: the Fall 2027 window opened 15 March 2026 and closes 14 March 2027, after which no international candidate can be admitted; the equivalent Winter deadline for the current cycle (31 May 2026, for Winter 2027 entry) has already passed. Admission runs in fixed rounds rather than staying open indefinitely, though later rounds absorb remaining seats. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
