Overview

The General Arts Certificate is a one-year program at Keyano College offering a flexible, transferable introduction to post-secondary studies in the humanities, social sciences, and fine arts. Delivered in person at the Clearwater Campus, the program develops communication, critical thinking, and research skills through coursework that can be applied toward further study at Keyano or transferred to other Alberta institutions. Part-time completion is available, and students may include an optional work-integrated learning component. The certificate is designed for both recent high school graduates and mature students building foundational academic skills before continuing into diploma or degree study.

Minimum GPA: 60.00 / %
Admission Requirements: Applicants with a high school diploma need a minimum 60% average, with no mark below 50%, in English 30-1, two of Biology 30, Chemistry 30, Physics 30, or Mathematics 31, and four subjects from Group A, B, or C. Mature applicants aged 21 or older need a minimum 60% average in English 30-1 and one Group A, B, or C subject. International applicants must also meet Keyano's English language proficiency requirements, such as an IELTS Academic score of 6.5 (minimum 5.0 in each section, 7.5 in Speaking) or a TOEFL iBT score of 86 (minimum 21 in each section, 26 in Speaking).
