Overview
The Bachelor of Education – Elementary is a four-year University Transfer program delivered through Keyano College in partnership with the University of Alberta. Students complete the first two years (60 credits) at Keyano's Clearwater Campus before continuing into the final two years of the University of Alberta's Bachelor of Education program, delivered locally in Fort McMurray. The curriculum combines foundational education coursework with supervised field experience placements in elementary classrooms. Graduates are prepared to teach at the elementary level in Alberta schools. Entry into Year 3 of the degree runs on a set cycle, with intakes offered roughly every two years. The program is delivered in person and leads to a Bachelor of Education credential jointly recognized by Keyano College and the University of Alberta.

Admission Requirements: Applicants with a high school diploma need a minimum average of 60%, with no mark below 50%, across English 30-1, three subjects from Groups A or C, and one subject from Groups A, B, or C; completion of Math 30-1 or Math 30-2 is highly recommended. Mature applicants aged 21 or older need a minimum 60% average, with no mark below 50%, in English 30-1 and one Group A or C subject. Applicants who already hold an accredited three- or four-year degree may enter directly into Year 3. International applicants must also meet Keyano's English language proficiency requirements, such as an IELTS Academic score of 6.5 (minimum 5.0 in each section, 7.5 in Speaking) or a TOEFL iBT score of 86 (minimum 21 in each section, 26 in Speaking).
