IT Support in an Indigenous Context is an AEC (attestation d'etudes collegiales) continuing-education program at Kiuna College totalling 825 hours across four modules. It prepares students to maintain software, manage computer equipment and school IT systems and IP telephone networks, and ensure basic IT security. Course modules cover Microsoft 365 and applications, hardware and software troubleshooting and maintenance, computer fleet management, Windows and Linux server administration, virtualization, computer security fundamentals, hardware assembly and configuration, IP telephony networks, telemedicine and health-system tools, school-system management, and professional support skills specific to an Indigenous context. Blocks 1 and 2 and the first part of block 3 are delivered online; the rest of block 3 and block 4 are delivered in person at Kiuna. Graduates can work as IT support technicians, network technicians, technical support agents, or user-support specialists for First Nations organizations, schools, government institutions, band councils, health and social-service centres, non-profit organizations, and Indigenous-owned IT businesses, with remote work often possible.
