This 30-credit certificate provides foundational information technology training, offered full-time or part-time at the Montreal and Laval campuses with fall, winter, and summer admission, and is administered by the Faculty of Sciences. Seven mandatory courses (21 credits) cover programming I and II, web programming, software development tools, systems administration, computer organization, and a workshop. Three elective courses (9 credits) are chosen from options including databases, data structures, software engineering, and operating systems, with at least two required to be INF-coded courses, letting students weight the credential toward web development or systems-oriented electives. The programme covers programming fundamentals, web technologies, databases, and software development practices, giving students a practical grounding for junior software or web-development roles, and can lead into the advanced certificate or the bachelor's degree in computer science.
