Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Associate of Arts Degree in English is a 60-credit undergraduate credential from the Faculty of Arts. Within the university's Associate of Arts Degree framework, students complete a 15-credit English concentration consisting of Introduction to University Writing (ENGL 1100), one introductory literature course, one course selected from Canadian, American, or British literature surveys, and 6 additional credits of English courses at the 2000 level. A minimum grade of C is required in each course, and all courses used toward the degree must be transferable to Simon Fraser University, the University of British Columbia, the University of Northern British Columbia, or the University of Victoria. The concentration is intended to build a foundation for further study, and KPU advises students planning to continue into its Bachelor of Arts Major or Minor in English to take a variety of English courses within the Associate of Arts Degree. Graduates receive the Associate of Arts Degree in English. The program admits students in September, January, and May.
